TESTIMONIALS

WHAT DO THEY SAY

Leading by example is something that is important to me when I look or seek support and guidance. I have seen and felt that in Starre through not only her encouraging words but through just being a living example of that. Highly recommended

I consulted with Starre Cannon a year ago regarding some challenges I was facing on a new job I had just gotten. I was being assigned tasks that were not covered during the interview process or in the job description. Starre was able to listen to my concerns and provide me with some great resources for mindfulness meditation which I took and applied and I still use these tools today. Her course of action helped me get through this tough time on my job and things eventually started to work out. Her holistic approach to coaching and advising definitely helped me to keep a cool head during this period and I am so thankful for her listening and providing some solutions and goals that I could work on and obtain.

Many black women hesitate to see a therapist, but it's crucial to find the right one who can truly connect with you and help you open up. For me, that person is Starre. She not only helped me straighten out my mind and taught me techniques to cope with stress, but she also provided me with valuable holistic knowledge to improve my overall health. I'm definitely sticking with her even beyond my accident therapy.

Starre has been an amazing therapist. I've seen therapists before and had bad luck with them. I almost gave up. Then I met Starre. I was going through alot with my teenagers , and the advice she gave me was very empowering and validating. Sometimes the "mom guilt" will creep up, even if they're the ones in the wrong. Starre kept reminding me that in this particular situation, I should hold my ground with them. I felt validated and seen. The support caused me to verbalize my boundaries with the kids , and also help them to learn how to use their words without abusive insulting language. She also sent me alot of resources of breathwork / simple meditations I can do when I'm overwhelmed. She was never condescending (which was the issue I had had with former therapists ) and she was also fun and kind.

My overall experience with Starre as my therapist was her outstanding ability to listen. She’s very attentive and repeats to gain an understanding. She supplied me with different tools on coping with my hardships while I continued to move forward. The tools I use the most is being still and breathing in & out while calming my mind, body and spirit. I can only do what I can do and have no control over anyone by me.

Starre is an AMAZING, therapist. It's hard to find someone who looks like me, and can relate to my experiences as a Black woman in this world. I came to her with gut wrenching (like literally) anxiety, stress, and depression. Starre has taught me how to meditate and use mindfulness to calm myself down, and how to cope during an episode. She is an intentional therapist, she is not just in it for the money. If you are not sure what you need in that particular moment, she listens to you and guides you to figuring out your next steps. She will help you figure out how to spread your wings, and releases you when you're ready. I am not healed, I am healing. Every day I notice growth in myself, and know that none of this was possible without the help and counseling of the amazing Starre.

Starre is a perfect combination of professional and personable. I found her 4 years ago as a broken young woman and with the help of her holistic approach to therapy, l've become a confident, well rounded woman. The stigma around therapy in the black community has long prevailed in my family. Holistic Love,LLC not only offered me a safe space as an African American woman, but introduced me to a new community of supportive women as well. I recommend attending the wellness retreats, the sound baths and hikes are my favorite! All of her services are affordable and worth the investment. I'm grateful to have such an amazing therapist!

Starre has been a joy to work with, she remains unbiased and always professional. When we had our first meeting she asked me what type of therapist I needed so that she could provide me with the best version of herself. If I ask for exercises/homework she has things ready for me. If I just need a friend to listen she's there ready to hear what I have to say. I highly recommend Starre to anyone currently looking for a therapist. I'm excited to see how l've grown a year from now, Starre has helped me tremendously in these past 3 years. I met Starre in such a dark place and she's since then helped me navigate myself out of there.

I cannot overstate the ways in which my time working with Starre brought me to a much better place. She never made me feel judged, but carefully pointed out ways in which I was caught in certain thought traps, and pushed me to a healthier mindset. She held me accountable for being the person I wanted to be, and helped provide me with the tools to become that person when I was misguided. For what I needed, the most effective tools she gave came in the form of affirmations and mindfulness techniques, all of which I continue to use when I need, and share with others when they need. As a direct result from my time working with Starre, I have learned how to love myself, and in turn, how to love others. I am able to enjoy fulfilling relationships with others in addition to myself, and have been able to help others learn to love themselves as well, using what I learned from our sessions. After taking the time to internalize Starre's mottos and affirmations, I feel confident I can keep my peace in the present and future, at least significantly better than I could before. Starre is the best accountability partner I could have asked for, and an empathetic source of support for those who need it.
